About me....

"I'm not a teacher: only a fellow traveler of whom you asked the way. I pointed ahead – ahead of myself as well as you."

— George Bernard Shaw

I am very excited to be starting my fifth year at the Butler Elementary School.  I know that we are going to have an exciting and memorable year in fifth grade!  It is a privilege to be a part of such a prestigious school district.

I have a wonderful husband, Steve, who is a photographer. We have three terrific children, three very spoiled dogs named Boo, Wendi and Brownie, a bearded dragon named Fred, a parakeet named Celia, and a fish named Atticus who lives at school during the school year.

I graduated from Bridgewater State College with a B.S. in Management.  After working in business for many years I returned to Bridgewater State College graduate school in 2005, where I completed a post-baccalaureate graduate program in Elementary Education.  I completed a 16-week student teaching practicum here at the Butler Elementary School in the Fall of 2006.  I will graduate in May with a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership from Framingham State University.

Steve and I were both personal trainers, and so most of our free time is spent working out or going for long rides on our bikes.  We love traveling with our children and hanging out by the pool with the lizard, dogs and kids.  We all love to read and spend a lot of time on the couch curled up with a book or watching a movie together.  We are all HUGE Red Sox and Patriots fans!

                          Go Red Sox!!!

I have high expectations for all of my students.  I expect each student to give me 100% effort.  The number one rule in my classroom is respect - respect for yourself, your classmates, your materials and your teacher.  I also believe that it is imperative that every student learns how to work together as a team, how to express him/herself effectively, and how take control of his/her own learning.  My role is to guide each student's learning.  The student's role is to embrace the journey towards becoming a life-long learner.

we miss you
